Dorpsgezicht, an original impressionist oil on canvas landscape by Jules de Cort (1918–1999) from Belgium, dating to 1960–1970, hand-signed, 37 × 47 cm, sold with frame, in good condition.

Impressionistic atmospheric village landscape, oil on canvas without a frame.
The work is laid out in a brisk, confident manner with a palette knife, as can be seen well in the photos.
Jules (Juul) de Cort was born on August 1, 1918 in Lamorbey - Sidcup (England) as Julius Leopold de Cort and died on July 11, 1999 in Wilrijk (Belgium). After stopping his studies in teacher training in the Germanic languages, he went to the Antwerp Art Academy (until 1946; pupil of Isidoor Opsomer, Constant Permeke).
On his identity card his profession was listed as photographer, but he spent most of his time painting.
