AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Coming Home is a series about the search for home — not necessarily a place, but a feeling.
Throughout the works, a small town on a hill keeps returning. It is distant yet familiar, like a place remembered rather than seen. Around it, figures move through the landscape — running, falling, dancing, carrying, searching.
Inspired by Mallorca, its landscapes and ancient visual language, the works explore the space between memory and imagination. The figures are reduced to simple movements, almost like traces left by people who passed through the same landscape long before us.
Perhaps it is not about finding a place that has been waiting for us.
Perhaps it is about finding that place within ourselves where, finally, we feel that we belong.

Artistic Profile:

Sofia Reshmi is a Swedish contemporary artist based in Berlin, whose practice moves between painting, photography, sculpture and mixed media. Working across a number of interconnected series, she combines found imagery, Polaroids, paint, spray, text and sculptural elements to create works that are at once visually immediate and conceptually layered.
Her work explores identity, belonging, longing, desire and the tension between the individual and the world around us. Personal experiences are often transformed into visual narratives that leave room for ambiguity, humour and emotional recognition. Rather than telling a single story, Reshmi creates fragments, symbols and situations that invite the viewer to complete the narrative themselves.
A distinctive part of her practice is the way she combines familiar visual languages with unexpected materials and contexts. Pop-cultural references, personal memories, everyday objects and archetypal imagery can coexist within the same work, creating a visual language that is playful on the surface while carrying a deeper emotional undercurrent.
Recent bodies of work include Mallorca / Coming Home, Analogue Stories, Longing: Distance, Boring Housewives, Urbano Cats and Transitions. Across these series, Reshmi continuously investigates what it means to belong — to a place, to another person, to a memory, or ultimately to oneself.
Reshmi's career has developed rapidly since she began presenting her work publicly, with collectors across Europe, the US and other international markets. Her practice is increasingly positioned at the intersection of contemporary art, visual culture and a new generation of artist-led international practice.
Based in Sweden, Reshmi works with both intimate and large-scale formats and continues to develop an expanding body of work intended for an international audience.
Reshmi has also founded the international invitationalclub Social Art Club (SAC.) which brings collectors and artlovers together.
