VINCENZO LARICCHIA (1940-2017)
Painter, trained at the Naples Art Institute and later graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, he moved from Naples to the Sorrento coast. His love for the masters of Neapolitan 19th-century painting, such as Casciaro, Irolli, Migliaro, and his love for Italian and foreign impressionists, is clearly evident in his works. Known as the painter of the sea, he dedicated his life to painting. His works are lively, intimate, emotional and evocative. They are scattered in national and international collections. He is a painter of high quotability, pursued by collectors and enthusiasts of the genre for the light touches that irradiate his works, for the immediacy and brilliance of the colors. The experience and artistic maturity achieved make the Neapolitan painter one of the most refined landscape painters of the last decades, a full heir of the famous Posillipo school that brought prestige to Neapolitan art and Italian art in general. Among the characteristics of Vincenzo Laricchia’s painting is the use of a palette where color is the absolute protagonist in quantity and quality, and the ability to capture always the most beautiful framing of the landscape. No one else can bring to the canvas the thousand nuances and the thousand reflections of the water, the transparency and the lights filtering through a wave, the trees, the flowers of the Sorrento coast that then open up and extend over the surrounding landscape.
Laricchia’s prices range from 300 euros to 800 euros.
