Description from the seller
Large plaster bust of Hercules – from a classical model – Height 60 cm
Important sculptural plaster bust depicting Hercules, inspired by the great tradition of classical statuary and the famous archaeological models of the Greco-Roman world.
The figure has a strong plastic presence: the mature face, the head slightly tilted, the thick beard and the rich curly hair give the work a monumental and expressive character. The modeling of the hair and beard is particularly intricate, while the surfaces of the face and bust are treated with greater softness, creating an effective contrast between strength, introspection and solemnity.
The subject recalls the traditional iconography of Hercules, and in particular the typology made famous by the Farnese Hercules, one of the most representative models of classical sculpture.
Thanks to its substantial size, the sculpture is especially suitable as a striking decorative element in interiors—classical, contemporary, professional studies, libraries, galleries, studios or collections dedicated to antiquity and the Grand Tour.
Material: plaster
Color: natural white
Height: approximately 60 cm
Maximum width: approximately 40 cm
Depth: approximately 30 cm
Subject: Hercules
Style: classical / archaeological / Grand Tour
The work presents the normal characteristics of plaster and artisanal workmanship, with slight surface irregularities and minimal marks compatible with the material and the nature of the creation. The photographs constitute an integral part of the description.
Packaging and shipping
Due to its size and especially the fragility of plaster, the sculpture requires professional, specific packaging.
The work will be shipped inside a custom-made wooden crate, with internal protection using panels and foam shapes and shock-absorbing material, designed to immobilize the bust correctly and minimize risks during transport.
For this reason, packaging and shipping costs will necessarily be higher than those of a standard shipment, as they include the construction of the crate, protective materials and the greater overall volume of the package.
Packaging is an essential part of the shipment and is prepared with the goal of ensuring that the sculpture arrives at its destination in the best possible condition.
