Hanging lamp - Gilt brass, Patinated bronze

An antique hallway lantern, also called corridor lantern chandelier or coach lantern. It is made of patinated bronze or brass and features a classic decorative style heavily inspired by Rococo / Louis XV with its ribbon knot ornaments, quivers or crossed torches, and foliate motifs. This type of suspended lighting fixture typically has four or five beveled glass facets and was used to illuminate entrances, stair landings, or corridors of old houses. Updated to bayonet bulb standards. It is stamped and bears a letter D.
