AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

ANCIENT JEWELERY FROM THE LATE 19th CENTURY – CIRCA 1890 – STERLING SILVER STAMPED – ARTICULATED BRACELET & GARNET RING – 32 G

Magnificent pair of two antique sterling silver jewelry pieces, stamped silver, dating from the late 19th century.

The bracelet is dated around 1890 and the ring also belongs to the late 1800s period.

This set has all the charm of antique jewelry: worked silver, patina acquired over time, engraved and sculpted decoration, as well as a very beautiful red garnet mounted on the ring.

THE BRACELET

Very beautiful antique bracelet in stamped silver, dating from around 1890.

Its rigid structure features a decoration fully worked in silver, consisting of geometric and symbolic motifs engraved all around the bracelet.

The hollows naturally darkened by the patina bring out the motifs and give great character to the piece.

Interesting feature: the bracelet has an opening system to facilitate slipping the hand through. It then closes thanks to a small interlocking notch mechanism integrated into the structure.

It is therefore a true rigid articulated bracelet and not a simple closed bangle.

• Period: around 1890
• Material: stamped silver
• Weight: approximately 24 g
• Inner diameter: approximately 65 mm
• Theoretical inner circumference: approximately 20.4 cm
• Integrated opening and closing system
• Decor engraved and sculpted in the silver

THE RING

The ring, also antique and attributed to the late 19th century, is made in stamped silver.

It is adorned with a prominent red garnet of oval shape, mounted as a cabochon and occupying much of the center of the piece.

Its deep red color contrasts beautifully with the antique silver and its patina.

The surround of the garnet also features decorative engraving, giving the ring a particularly interesting presence while preserving the artisanal character of jewelry from this period.

• Period: late 19th century
• Material: stamped silver
• Stone: red garnet
• Shape: oval
• Cut: cabochon
• Weight: approximately 8 g
• Inner diameter: approximately 17 mm
• Corresponding size: approximately US 6½

TOTAL WEIGHT OF THE SET: APPROX. 32 GRAMS.

This set has a true identity: two antique silver pieces, hallmarks on the pieces, a bracelet with a particularly interesting opening mechanism, and a sizeable garnet ring.

The ensemble shows a patina and signs of use consistent with its age, which contribute fully to its character.

A beautiful set intended for lovers of antique jewelry, worked silver, and pieces from the late 19th century.

The photographs are an integral part of the description and allow the state, hallmarks, patina, engravings, and the bracelet’s opening mechanism details to be appreciated.
