Description from the seller
Special Crypto Rock Series - Reconstituting a photo using photos of the represented artist.
Artist Photographer – Creator of contemporary images
Multidisciplinary photographer, author and musician, David Law develops a body of work focused on gaze, presence and perception of the image in the urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection.
New Series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons
The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary reinterpretation of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction composed of thousands of micro-graphic fragments. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it unveils a richness of visual details. Each fragment acts like a “wave,” evoking the artistic universe of the subject represented. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. An in‑depth treatment is carried out on colors, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent manner.
Edition & Manufacturing
Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are made on aluminum with integrated rear mounting. Printing on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with flexible UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term color stability, and a modern and contemporary appearance.
Career
Since 2014, David Law participates in about twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also a dedicated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops a body of work as an author and musician, including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photography book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
