Lot of two ancient Catholic devotional objects including a large commemorative crucifix and a rosary, both bearing hallmarks indicating 800 silver.
1. Large commemorative crucifix
Ancient crucifix consisting of a dark wood cross with appliques and a representation of Christ in silver
The reverse side features a particularly interesting nominative inscription:
« MARIE-ETIENNE GUIDARD
MARCHE-EN-FAMENNE
8 JULY 1948 »
This inscription seems to correspond to a dedication or commemorative keepsake related to a person and a specific date.
The crucifix also bears a 800 hallmark visible on the reverse.
The whole presents a beautiful antique patina appropriate to its age and use. The wood shows normal traces and marks related to time.
2. Ancient rosary
Ancient Catholic rosary with metallic beads, with cross and central medal.
The reverse of the cross also bears a 800 hallmark, confirming the presence of silver.
The cross is finely worked with a relief Christ and a radiant décor. Beautiful antique patina on the whole.
Condition: wear and conservation status consistent with age, with patina, signs of wear and small defects visible in the photographs.
The photographs are an integral part of the description and show the real condition of the objects as well as the hallmarks and the inscription.
Shipped with tracking and careful handling.
