Description
The work presents a human figure gathered in on itself, built with a limited range of grays that contrasts with a pictorial space dominated by ochres and blueish tones.
The closed posture of the body concentrates the composition inward. Arms, torso, and legs form an almost circular structure in which the body seems to protect itself and, at the same time, contain a force not yet exteriorized. The absence of a concrete narrative context shifts attention to the figure's psychological state.
The chromatic treatment establishes a tension between the neutrality of the body and the materiality of the background. The ochre zones, applied with a visible and partially gestural brushwork, introduce a more physical and contemporary dimension compared to the anatomical precision of the figure.
Latence (latency) can be understood as the representation of a suspended state: what remains in silence, contained in the body, before becoming action.

Alejandro Carballosa, visual artist and Cuban designer based in Spain, with a career marked by the exploration of force, emotion, and beauty in the animal and human figure. His work combines technical realism with a contemporary vision, where color, light, and movement acquire a symbolic and expressive language.
Trained in visual arts and design, he integrates the aesthetic sensibility of classical art with modern resources, creating pieces that balance energy and introspection.
His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions, and is part of private collections in Germany and the United States.
