Description from the seller
IMPOSING SOLID SILVER BRACELET – 63 G – 20 CM – LION HEAD MEDALLION – HONEYCOMB WEAVING AND ORNAMENTAL DECOR
Superb and imposing solid silver bracelet, with a particularly generous weight of about 63 grams for a length of 20 cm.
A piece with character that immediately stands out for the richness of its construction, its decorative work and especially its spectacular central medallion depicting a lion’s head in relief.
This bracelet does not rely solely on its silver weight: its interest also lies in the substantial work carried out across almost its entire surface.
THE LION, CENTRAL PIECE OF THE BRACELET
In the center sits a wide circular medallion representing a front-facing lion head.
The face, mane and the various volumes are worked in relief, while the darker parts of the design create a particularly interesting contrast with the shiny areas of the silver.
This alternation between light reliefs and shaded hollows highlights every detail of the feline’s head and gives great depth to the whole.
Since antiquity, the lion has held a special place in art and symbolism.
Animal associated with power and majesty, it traditionally represents strength, courage, determination, authority and protection.
Wearing a lion as jewelry has thus, over the ages and across cultures, become a way to assert a strong personality and a certain confidence.
It is therefore not here a simple decorative element: the lion truly gives the bracelet its identity.
A PARTICULARLY WORKED CONSTRUCTION
The bracelet features a broad structure composed of several parallel interwoven rows.
The different sections visually interlace and are bordered by a twisted motif reminiscent of a metal rope.
Many elements also feature small volute decorations, creating a repeating pattern along the entire length of the bracelet.
This succession of details gives the piece a great deal of relief.
The eye gradually discovers the different layers of the bracelet: the twisted borders, the central rows, the decorated elements, then the substantial connecting pieces ornately worked on either side of the medallion.
The overall effect is a rich, almost architectural aesthetic, while maintaining true visual coherence.
A CLOSING THAT IS PART OF THE DESIGN
Even the clasp has benefited from significant decorative work.
It is not merely a functional element added to the back of the bracelet.
The outer part of the clasp features its own decor with a small lion head in relief surrounded by ornamental motifs.
There is also a small circular green element that adds a discreet touch of color to the whole.
This attention paid to a part of the jewel that is normally much more sober is particularly interesting: the bracelet remains decorative from any angle at which it is viewed.
A PROMINENT PRESENCE ON THE WRIST
With about 63 grams of solid silver, this bracelet has an immediately noticeable presence when handled and worn.
Its weight, its width and its architecture give it the character of a true statement bracelet.
That said, the regular organization of its motifs and the balance of its proportions preserve a certain elegance.
It can be worn alone: it does not need any other jewelry to dress the wrist.
When paired with a white shirt, a dark outfit, a jacket or a more casual look, the bracelet instantly becomes a strong focal point of the silhouette.
A PIECE FOR LOVERS OF CHARACTERJewelry
This bracelet will particularly appeal to lovers of solid silver jewelry, heavy pieces, animal motifs and pieces with significant detail work.
The lion provides strong symbolism, while the chain work and ornaments give it a personality very different from a classic bracelet.
