An antique pink background slowly descends toward mauve and then into a depth of deep violet, like a light gathering toward evening. In the central band, a long wave of golden corollas opens: some full and luminous, with material lifted by the brush, others barely hinted at by minute points of cream and amber. Among them small brown blotches and white sparks insinuate themselves, giving breath and depth to the rhythm. The surface is built for accumulation, dense and granular, and it holds the light in the reliefs of color. The slightly curved movement of the bloom runs across the entire canvas, creating a sense of calm suspension, as if time had stopped in a moment of full splendor.
