Description from the seller
Vintage Brass Owl Bookends - Mid-Century Modern - Pair
A beautiful and heavy pair of vintage brass bookends in the shape of owls, dating back to the 1960s-1970s.
These decorative pieces are designed in the iconic Mid-Century Modern (MCM) style, showcasing highly detailed craftsmanship.
Each bookend features a textured owl perched on a branch, mounted on a square base adorned with elegant Art Nouveau-style filigree and scrollwork patterns.
The figurines are hollow-cast, allowing them to remain stable while framing your favorite books.
The pair shows a wonderful authentic aged appearance with a natural greenish-brown patina in the crevices, which highly enhances their vintage character (can be polished to a high shine if preferred by the buyer).
The undersides are smooth and flat, ready for felt pads to protect your shelves. No maker's marks visible, which is typical for brassware from this era.
A timeless and functional addition to any library, office, or vintage decor collection.
