The proposed work is a fascinating and lively genre scene that depicts a rustic interior animated by a group of patrons. The characters, caught in a moment of everyday conviviality around a table, are portrayed with marked expressions and intense gesturality.
The composition, the almost caricatural faces, and the wise use of chiaroscuro unmistakably evoke the stylistic features of Flemish and Dutch genre painting of the XVII century, echoing the atmospheres typical of masters such as David Teniers the Younger or Adriaen Brouwer.
The color palette is built on warm and enveloping earthy tones, from deep browns to ochres, brightened by touches of white and red that guide the viewer’s eye toward the narrative fulcra of the scene. The brushstrokes appear loose and expressive, capable of giving great materiality and immediacy to the subjects depicted.

The canvas has been applied using the marouflage technique onto a solid black panel support, an intervention that guarantees excellent structural stability to the painting while preserving the original texture of the fabric.

The item is shipped from Geneva, Switzerland. For this reason, delivery times to EU countries may be slightly longer than usual due to standard customs clearance procedures.

In case of return of the package for an incorrect address, unclaimed package, or unpaid duties, the buyer will have to pay a second shipment and cover the return costs.

I also remind you that, since Switzerland lies outside the EU customs area, import taxes, local VAT, and customs duties are the buyer’s full responsibility and will be collected by the authorities of your country upon delivery. Alternatively to shipping, if you have the possibility, in-person pickup in Geneva is always the option I prefer and strongly recommend, as it will allow you to eliminate shipping costs and ensure maximum safety for the artwork. If shipping is chosen, I will do my best to package the piece to protect the painting during transit.
