An original Japanese woodblock print by the celebrated shin-hanga master Hiroshi Yoshida (吉田博, 1876–1950), from his acclaimed series "Sakura Hachidai" (桜八題, "Eight Views of Cherry Blossoms"). This example depicts Arashiyama (嵐山), one of Kyoto's most famous cherry-blossom viewing spots, with pleasure boats gathered along the river beneath blossoming trees — a scene Yoshida rendered with his signature command of atmosphere and light.

This is a jizuri (自摺) impression — meaning the print was pulled and finished under Yoshida's own supervision, rather than by his family's workshop after his death. Jizuri examples are more highly regarded by collectors than later posthumous printings. The sheet bears Yoshida's hand-written pencil signature, consistent with genuine jizuri examples of this period.

Hiroshi Yoshida is internationally recognized as one of the foremost shin-hanga artists, celebrated for blending traditional ukiyo-e woodblock technique with a Western-influenced sense of light and perspective. His prints are held in major museum collections worldwide, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the British Museum.
