Faïence de Thulin - Vase - FT 388 - Ceramic, Earthenware

This Art Deco vase comes from the former production of the Thulin faience factory. It is decorated with a clearly visible glaze drip. It has a pronounced globular body on a narrow foot, with a constricted neck and a wide, turned-over rim. That is a shape that is particularly common in 20th-century European art and studio ceramics. The fairly strong color variation and the flowing glaze evoke artistic/handmade ceramics. This vase has served as the type illustration in the book: 'Walloon Pottery for the Living Room: the Production of S.A. des faïenceries de Thulin 1923-1973'.
