Attractive Mallorcan coastal landscape, signed “E. DEU”, depicting a bright sandy cove protected by rock formations and Mediterranean vegetation.
The composition is organized from a foreground of dark rock to the beach and the open sea. The shoreline guides the gaze toward the background, where the blue of the water, the golden sand and the intense greens create a bright, fully Mediterranean scene.
1. COVE, COAST AND MEDITERRANEAN LIGHT
The painting captures a compact cove, with rocks in the foreground, calm water and an open beach under soft light.
The reverse inscription “CALA ESTRETA - 13” directly links the work to this coastal enclave. The landscape is presented from a clear, direct and highly decorative perspective, with particular attention to the contrast between sand, water and vegetation.
2. TECHNIQUE AND COLORIMETRY
The artist works with visible, rapid brushstrokes loaded with material. The rocks are built with greens, blues, violets and grays, while the sand is resolved with light ochres, yellows and whites.
The combination of cool and warm tones gives depth to the scene and reinforces the sense of changing light by the sea. The result sits within the tradition of modern Mallorcan landscape painting, expressive and luminous.
3. SIGNATURE AND REVERSE INSCRIPTION
The work is signed at bottom right “E. DEU”.
On the reverse there is the handwritten inscription “CALA ESTRETA - 13”, accompanied by an additional partially legible note. These kinds of marks provide documentary interest and link the painting to the place depicted.
4. CONDITION
The work shows generally attractive conservation and a clear chromatic reading.
There are faint surface marks and small traces typical of age and handling, visible in the photographs. The paint layer retains good presence and the composition maintains its decorative strength.
It is recommended to carefully review all images, which form an essential part of the description.
5. FRAME AND SHIPPING
The work is presented in a decorative molded wood frame, with a dark exterior and a wide inner light filet. The frame shows signs of use and minor alterations consistent with its age.
The frame is provided only as a courtesy or gift. No claims or complaints regarding its condition, age, fragility, flaws, alterations, stability, attachments, gilding, polychromy, mounting or decorative adequacy will be accepted.
The work will be professionally packaged to measure, with reinforced protection, double box and insured shipment.
