Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is an Marche-based artist whose life has roots in artisanal mastery. For forty years he has worked in the shadows of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, varnishing, and chroming.
The turning point in his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time transform into an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always held inside. What for decades had been "only" a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to bring to life modern pop sculptures, vibrant and ironic. Today Sagrasse has transformed his artisan know-how into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.
