Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life is steeped in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he has worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, painting, and electroplating.
The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time transform into an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been “only” a technique of excellence becomes the means to bring to life modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his know-how as a craftsman into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one's most authentic talent.
