Decanter (2) - Crystal

Elegant pair of vintage decanters/liquor bottles, made in heavy clear crystal/glass with refined ruby-red decoration and a milled/faceted finish.

The two pieces feature a distinctive squared, architectural shape, typical of the Art Deco taste, adorned with several decorative bands: geometric diamond patterns interwoven, lattice-like work, and a lower band with elongated raised elements. The base is also richly worked with a large radial star motif.

Both decanters retain the large original coordinating stoppers, also in worked crystal.

The decorative technique recalls the Bohemian/Czechoslovak crystal tradition “ruby cut-to-clear,” characterized by the contrast between ruby red and the transparent crystal obtained through faceting.

In terms of stylistic characteristics and workmanship, the pieces are plausibly from the first half of the 20th century, approximately 1920–1950, with an Art Deco taste. In the absence of visible marks or signatures, attribution to Bohemian manufacture and dating should be considered indicative and not certified.

The pair is kept in good overall condition compatible with its age, with the usual signs of time and use. The photographs are an integral part of the description and show in detail the workmanship and condition.
