Condition: Item in good condition. Clean and fresh interior. No foxing. A little looseness in the binding of some quires, but still solid. Printer's justification on a blank page inserted in the volume.
Notebook in very good condition, with a green cloth spine and boards of green and black marbled paper.
The corners of the slipcase are worn.
Cardboard folder in satisfactory condition.
One printed label affixed to the upper cover, another to the back.
Spine caps and corners are worn. The headcap is split and weakened (see photo).

Facsimile reproduction, issued in 1920, of an original notebook by Charles Baudelaire covering the period July 1861 – November 1863.
Written in ink and pencil, it contains both the poet's literary projects and his accounts and financial statements that were always in the red. This personal notebook also informs us of his never-kept schedules, the status of his ongoing work, and it also includes some gallant addresses interwoven with literary topics to be treated, visits to be paid, or letters to be written.
Amid these lists and accounts, there are a few touching resolutions and intimate invocations by the poet to give himself courage in the face of adversity.
