Table lamp - Onyx, Gold plated - Hollywood Regency

Elegant vintage lamp base made of solid polished calcite onyx in green-creamy tones, with beautiful natural honey-brown veining and striking mineral inclusions. Each side of the stone has its own pattern, giving the lamp a unique character.
This lamp base features a classic turned baluster shape with a round foot, a full vase-like central portion, and a slender tapered neck. The gold-colored metal fitting forms a warm combination with the onyx.
Calcite onyx, also known as onyx marble, green onyx, or honey onyx, is a decorative natural stone that was widely used for luxurious interior objects and lighting in the 1960s–1970s.
The type of calcite onyx and the design are consistent with European production from the 1960s–1970s; the exact manufacturer and country of production have not been determined.
The lamp is fully functional and can be used classically with a fabric lampshade or more modern with a large decorative filament or designer bulb.
