Vintage table lamp dating to the 1960s–1970s, with an eight-part petal shade in cream to honey tones and a dark patinated metal frame; overall height about 42 cm, shade diameter about 25 cm, European fitting, wired with a cord switch, fully functional, in used vintage condition with patina.
Description from the seller
Extraordinary decorative vintage table lamp in a floral design, presumably from the 1960s/1970s.
Particularly characteristic is the elaborate, almost spherical lampshade made up of eight individual, curved, petal-like segments. The cream to honey-colored panels have an attractive natural or marbled texture and are framed by a dark patinated metal frame. Relief inlays and small leaf ornaments between the segments accentuate the floral character.
The base is also highly decorative. The round metal base transitions into a richly profiled shaft with ornate, vase-like elements. A knob-shaped finial closes the shade at the top. The combination of warm cream- and honey-tones with the dark patinated metal creates an effect characteristic of the mid-century/Hollywood Regency era.
The construction and design recall Capiz shell lamps as well as so-called Petal- or Slag-glass lamps from the 1960s and 1970s. No maker’s mark could be identified; the manufacturer and exact origin are therefore unknown and not attributed.
The lamp has a European socket and a cord with a switch. In the photos a modern energy-saving bulb is used. The wiring may have been renewed or changed over time.
The lamp shows signs of age and use. There are a few deposits, discolorations, and minor irregularities on the light panels. The metal shows patina in keeping with age. Please note the numerous detail photos as an essential part of the condition description.
A very decorative vintage lighting object with an unusual plastic floral form – especially suitable for mid-century, Hollywood Regency, Boho, Eclectic, and classic interiors.
