Elegant pair of vintage candle holders, made from beautifully polished banded onyx/calcium, combined with gold-colored metal mounts and characteristic claw feet. The natural stone displays stunning green-grey, cream, honey-yellow and reddish-brown veining; because onyx is a natural product, each candlestick has its own unique pattern.
The candle holders stand on three graceful claw feet and are topped with a wide drip/candle spill tray.
The combination of onyx, gold-colored details and classical ornamentation fits perfectly within Neoclassical Revival / Hollywood Regency and luxurious classical home decor.

The construction shows strong similarities with Italian G.S.E. home accessories from the mid-20th century, of which versions with 24-karat gilded brass components are known. This pair, however, is unsigned, so G.S.E. is listed only as a attribution and not as a definitively proven manufacturer.
