Pancho Porto (1988) - Burning man

Limited series sculpture of 25 pieces in bronze and corten steel by the Spanish sculptor Pancho Porto. The sculpture is delivered hand-signed and numbered, accompanied by its respective certificate of authenticity. Pancho Porto (Santiago de Compostela, 1988), began his training in the specialty of artistic cabinetry at the Antonio Failde center in Ourense. At this school he first came into contact with disciplines such as carving, drawing, or modeling, and, most importantly, with working in the workshop.
Later he enrolled at the Mestre Mateo School of Arts and Trades in Santiago de Compostela, where he studied what would later become his main discipline: sculpture. It is at this school that he already works with materials that would be fundamental in his work, such as steel or clay. Parallel to this, Porto continues his training personally and researches other materials such as bronze or resins and their multiple uses and finishes, leaning toward the use of bronze and steel as the definitive materials for his works.

After this initial training stage, he decides to install his workshop on the banks of the Sarela river, very close to the place where he was born. It is here that he begins his particular theoretical and practical investigation of the relationship between the materials used in each work and the message they convey. This leads him to seek new proposals when it comes to communicating and narrating his story. Since then, this has been the usual tone of his works, thus adding complexity and background to the entire body of his work, with themes that touch both the social realm and his personal experiences.
