Nicolas De Corsi (1882-1956) - Paesaggio con pescatore

Nicolas De Corsi (Odessa 1885 - Torre del Greco 1956) stood out in the circle of Neapolitan painters of the early twentieth century, followers of the thriving "School of Posillipo". De Corsi was a painter of immediacy, with a lively palette and strong chromaticism. The oil on panel, unframed and measuring 29 x 39 cm, depicts a view of the Campanian gulf on a cloudy day, a fisherman in a boat has completed his day's fishing, a lively picturesque village, and in the background a hint of a mountainous profile. The painting is in excellent conservational condition. Provenance: private collection.
