Rare and exceptional: “Les Fleurs du Mal” by Charles Baudelaire.
This is the Centennial Edition, published in Paris in 1921 by Librairie des Bibliophiles Parisiens.
Completed printing on 2 April 1921 by Georges Supot in Alençon, successor of Poulet-Malassis (Baudelaire’s historic publisher).
Very limited luxury edition:
Copy on Tokyo Imperial Japanese paper ( lead print limited to only 55 copies reserved for the press / major bibliophiles).
Contains a bibliographic introduction and new documents on the 1857 trial by Pierre Dufay.
Portrait of Charles Baudelaire in photogravure with a serpentine border.
Binding & Condition:
Half-leather / half-chagrin binding of the period with corners, spine with 5 raised bands, with the title and date in gold.
Marbled paper boards.
