Most splendid Neo-Rococo perfume bottle in Paris porcelain – Jacob Petit (1796–1868).
Perfume bottle (or essences bottle) in molded Paris porcelain, relief-carved and richly decorated with polychromy and gold. Body of a cut, asymmetric shape inspired by Rococo Revival, featuring on both faces central panels outlined by volutes and vegetal motifs (rocaille) highlighted with burnished gold. Inside the cartouches, there is fine hand-painted floral bouquet with multicolored roses and foliage. The background decorated with enamel in an intense emerald green, contrasting with the base in a pinkish tone. It retains its original pinnacled/pagoda-style lid with identical geometric and gilded decoration.
19th Century (c. 1830–1850), Louis-Philippe / French Restoration period.
Marked on the base, in blue under the glaze, with the handwritten monogram "JP" (referring to Jacob Petit).
