Villeroy & Boch - (Dresden) - Komplettes Kaffeeservice für 6 Personen (21 Teile) - Modell „Dresden 6326“ - Steingut - - Coffee service - Creamware

A rare, historic, and guaranteed original coffee service from the renowned Villeroy & Boch manufactory, produced at the significant Dresden production facility.

It is the famous Art Nouveau model “Dresden 6326” from the period around 1912. The decor was applied using the classic transfer printing method and features detailed, idyllic landscapes with rural scenes (herders, herds, cows) and a floral border. On the undersides lies the historical Merkur backstamp with the legal protection mark “Ges. gesch.” as well as impressed blind stamps (model numbers).

The 21-piece set consists of:
1x Large coffee pot with lid (height approx. 23 cm)
1x Sugar bowl with lid
1x Creamer / milk jug
1x Medium round serving plate / cake plate
6x dessert plates
6x saucers
6x coffee cups (production-related unstamped, absolutely belonging).

The service is over 110 years old and shows an authentic, age-related patina. Please note the following defects before bidding:

Coffee cups: One cup has a larger chip (flaking) on the outer rim. A second cup has a very small, minimal chip on the outside. The remaining 4 cups are chip-free.

Coffee pot: Inside there are age-related dark spots and stains in the ceramic. The pot is nevertheless completely intact and ready for use.

Plates: One plate shows a very light, superficial hairline on the underside (stability not affected).

General stoneware craquelé: As expected for its age, the entire service shows the characteristic, charming crazing network in the glaze (especially on the pot) as well as light brownish discolorations on the unglazed foot rings. Please examine the pictures in detail. The pictures are part of the condition.

An honest, storied collection set from the late Art Nouveau era.
