Vase - Porcelain

An elegant square porcelain vase, finely decorated on each side panel with figures from Taoist mythology and auspicious symbols. One side depicts the deity Magu (麻姑), protector of health and longevity, accompanied by her faithful spotted deer and a red bat in flight (a symbol of happiness). The calligraphic inscription reads Magu xian shou ('Magu offers vows of longevity'). The vase’s neck is richly adorned with Fenghuang (phoenixes), stylized clouds, a veined ruyi, and a vibrant emerald-green dragon winding through the celestial mists.Marks and Seals: The base features a four-character apocryphal mark in iron-red under glass: '乾隆年製' (Qianlong Nian Zhi). This type of mark does not indicate production dating from the reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795), but is a classic tribute and stylistic revival mark typical of the fine manufacture of the Republican era or the 20th century.
