This large vintage ceramic vase by Scheurich Keramik is a striking example of West German pottery, featuring a highly textured surface and a colourful relief decoration of two fish.
The vase has a distinctive rectangular form with rounded edges and a wide, short neck. The body is finished in a heavily textured brown glaze, contrasting with the deep blue background and the raised red and green fish motif. The strong colours and three-dimensional decoration give the piece a particularly expressive Mid-Century character.
The base is impressed “281-39” and “W. Germany”, identifying the model and German origin.
