AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Title: Abstract Forest

School: European Abstract (20th century)

Style: Gestural abstraction inspired by Expressionism

Technique: Oil on canvas

Circle and artistic influence:

Work linked to the European abstract currents developed during the 20th century, with particular proximity to Abstract Expressionism and gestural abstraction. The execution with energetic brushstrokes, layering of matter and predominance of earthy and ochre tones suggests the influence of artists who transformed the traditional landscape through a subjective interpretation, progressively moving away from figurative representation.

Abstract composition in which certain organic and landscape references can be recognized, evoking the interior of a forest. On a background dominated by browns, ochres, dark greens and yellows, the artist develops a network of free brushstrokes, curves and interlaced marks that suggest trunks, branches, roots and vegetation.

The pictorial matter and the movement of the brushstroke take on special prominence, building a surface of notable visual dynamism. The lighter areas, executed in yellows and ochres, contrast with the dark masses of the background, generating depth and a dense, almost mysterious atmosphere. Nature is not depicted descriptively, but reinterpreted through gesture, color and matter.

The work is presented with a wide ornamental gold-finished frame, patinated, enriched with vegetal reliefs and volutes especially marked in the corners and central areas. It incorporates a beige passe-partout that provides a wide visual separation between painting and frame, highlighting the small format of the composition.

Observations:

The ensemble may show slight signs of aging and use compatible with its chronology, especially visible on the frame and passe-partout.

Dimensions: 58 x 58.8 cm.
Dimensions without frame: 32.2 x 31.2 cm.

The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In such case, we will require photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority.

Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by an surcharge due to reasons such as being outside a continental territory, excessive dimensions or weight of the item. PremiArt will not bear this surcharge under any circumstances.

The courier that must cross the Swiss border can be much slower than usual, so, if possible, to speed up processing we will provide the customs number that is holding the shipment so the customer can release it and it can arrive at its destination. Experience has taught us that this is the most effective solution for both parties.

Due to the high volume of shipments it is possible that the order may be delayed by more than three days, for which we apologize and thank you for your patience. If you have any questions about your order, please contact us via internal messaging.
