The story behind this one

Every painting in my studio is born from music. And in my studio, music means a CD or a record, never a playlist. No skipping, no algorithm, no next song chosen for me. I put an album on, I stop thinking, and I stay inside one mood long enough for it to end up on the canvas.

"Ultraviolence" came out of a late night with Lana Del Rey on the record player. The song is slow, cinematic and a little dangerous, and so is the painting: moody olive and khaki underneath, then burgundy, turquoise and hot pink cutting through it like something you shouldn't look at but can't stop. Like all my work, it carries the title of the song that shaped it.

I PAINT LOUD.

Colour is my language, and I don't use it quietly. Layers of acrylic built up with palette knives and brushes, so the surface has texture you want to touch. Energy first, warmth second, and a little melancholy hiding in between.

My paintings live with collectors worldwide, in homes, studios and offices where people wanted colour that actually says something. This one is ready to join them.

About the artist:
