Georg Ebers – Aegypten in Wort und Bild, two volumes in richly decorated leather bindings, published in 1880 in German.
Description from the seller
Title:
Georg Ebers – Aegypten in Wort und Bild – 2 parts – 1880 – richly decorated leather bindings
Special two-volume antiquarian edition of Georg Ebers, Aegypten in Wort und Bild. A richly illustrated work on ancient and modern Egypt, published in 1880.
The two volumes are bound in beautiful, decorative leather bindings, with richly applied ornaments and jewel stones. The bindings are gilt on the edges and give the set a striking and luxurious appearance, suitable for a representative 19th-century book edition.
Bibliographic details:
Author: Georg Ebers (1837–1898)
The books show signs of age and use that correspond to their age. UNFORTUNATELY, on about twenty pages, images have been cut out.
The decorative bindings and jewel stones make this edition particularly attractive to collectors of antiquarian books and works on Egypt.
Photos are part of the description.
Measurements 39 x 30 cm.
Weight around 8000 grams
