In his interpretation of the female body, Paolo Desario seeks the essence, the archetype. The study of form combines with that of the pose, always in balance. By shaping the raw material, clay, the artist gives life to a body and a pose crystallized in time. Yet, the female body exudes freedom.

The artistic and multifaceted talent of Paolo Desario shines with energy from his works, releasing a vital energy almost tangible. His inspiration begins with an inner search that evokes ancient and primordial echoes, as suggested by the sinuous female torsos and the winged figures. He manages to unite reality and transcendence through ever-new insights, knowing how to craft an original synthesis between the individual predilection for the essentiality of forms and the most attentive contemporary plastic research.

Sculptor and painter, Paolo Desario was born in Barletta, Puglia, and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Bari in the sculpture school of Amerigo Tot. He lives and works in Barletta, has taught Visual Arts at the Liceo Artistico Statale "Sacro Cuore" in Cerignola and at the Liceo Artistico in Corato. He boasts an artistic career started nearly 50 years ago, dedicating himself to sculpture and painting, participating in numerous national and international solo and group exhibitions.
