Description from the seller
Chromatic Postcards is a series of abstract paintings that explores color as a language capable of transcending representation and connecting directly with emotional experience. Each work arises from the conviction that color possesses an almost spiritual dimension: a silent energy that transforms perception, awakens memories, and generates states of contemplation. These compositions do not depict a concrete place; instead they function as small postcards from an inner landscape, inviting the viewer to discover their own reading through the relationship between light, form, and color.
Built through highly precise geometric shapes, the works establish a delicate balance between order and sensitivity. Rectangles, planes, and intersections are layered with a seemingly simple logic that hides a complex investigation into chromatic relationships. In this sense, the series maintains a dialogue with the tradition of geometric abstraction and, especially, with the investigations of Josef Albers on color interaction, where each hue modifies and redefines the perception of the others. However, these compositions do not seek merely to demonstrate an optical phenomenon, but to turn that interaction into an emotionally rich and deeply human experience.
Carried out entirely in acrylic on canvas, the paintings pursue a visual harmony in which each form finds its place within a carefully constructed system. Transparencies, overlaps, and proportions generate depth without resorting to traditional perspective, creating spaces of calm where color takes on an almost tangible presence. Chromatic Postcards invites slow contemplation, reminding us that abstraction can also be a territory of emotion, silence, and balance, where geometry ceases to be a rigid structure and becomes a living language capable of expressing what words cannot reach.
