The background rises from deep green to golden light with a very slow gradation, as if the darkness were melting upward. On this expanse lie imprints of violet and blue leaves, sparse and tiny at the bottom, wider and clearer as they rise, until they thin out in the glare. Among them small flashes of gold and orange light up, brief warm marks that punctuate the surface. The matter is dense, granular, built up by short touches that vibrate up close and resolve themselves at a distance. From it comes a serene breath, the sensation of a field crossed by the morning light.
