This electrifying acrylic-on-canvas work embraces the language of Neocubism and modern Pop Art to stage the tension and elegance of the taurine encounter. The composition is structured through an intricate assemblage of geometric shapes, where the imposing figure of the bull, rendered in facets of dark tones with interventions of primaries, contrasts with the stylized and serene pose of the matador, dressed in a heavily ornamented traje de luces. The background reimagines the architecture of the bullring through a mosaic of vibrant planes, filled with graphic patterns, dotted textures and serpentine lines in yellows, reds and blues that provide a dynamic rhythm to the scene. The red mantle of the cape that crosses the lower part stands out, connecting the two protagonists in a visual dialogue charged with drama, tradition and rich plastic expressivity.

Adri Q is a young Afro-Cuban artist born in Cuba who currently resides and works in Alicante, Spain, living and working in El Campello, Alicante. Her painting arises from the encounter between illustration, geometry and a deeply contemporary sensibility. Through acrylic on canvas she has developed a recognizable visual language, characterized by the use of intense colors, flat surfaces, geometric structures and a rich succession of graphic patterns that turn each composition into a dynamic and easily identifiable universe.

Her work moves freely between figuration and abstraction. Sometimes it starts from recognizable scenes — musicians, women, dancers, Mediterranean landscapes, animals or characters belonging to the collective imagination — only to fragment them and reconstruct them through color blocks, visual rhythms and decorative elements. In other instances, geometry takes on a greater protagonism and the figure seems to emerge from the color itself.

One of the most interesting features of her work is precisely this ability to maintain a constant identity within a very broad thematic range. Color does not function only as a decorative element: it is one of the main emotional drivers of her painting.
