Oil painting on canvas, an authorial copy created by a not-famous Italian artist, inspired by the famous masterpiece by Johannes Vermeer (circa 1662-63).
The scene depicts a young woman in a quiet, secluded interior, weighing with a small balance jewelry and coins laid out on a table, while in the background there is a painting depicting the Last Judgment. The play of light filtering through the window, the white veil, the blue mantle and the suspended atmosphere faithfully reproduce the intimate, symbolic poetics typical of seventeenth-century Flemish painting.
Completely hand-painted, this is not a print nor an original Vermeer, but a high-quality artistic reproduction created by a contemporary painter.
