Broken Wall

Broken Wall arises from Mart Signed’s exploration of the relationship between street art, matter, and urban memory.

The work

Each journey is marked by a final gesture.

A single brushstroke transforms 22 into 33, turning a common number into a symbol.

The work does not impose an answer, but leaves each observer free to find their own interpretation.

The stencil is made directly on the support: this is not a print or reproduction.

The work depicted in the photographs is exactly the one that will be received by the collector.

Materials and authenticity

Materials salvaged from the street are chosen to maintain a living link with the original language of street art.

Signs, abrasions, surface variations, irregularities, and natural imperfections are not defects, but elements that belong to the history of the material and to the identity of the work.
