Description from the seller
AMA • Pope (1985) - "Aurora GetRich" - 9/20
When wealth becomes a luminous obsession.
After the success of the Aurora Borealis series, Aurora Counterfeit Original, Aurora Authentic Fake... AMA continues its ironic exploration of contemporary myths, between social success, pop culture, and the fantasy of absolute wealth.
"Aurora Get Rich" – Get Rich Or Die Trying turns a brutal mantra of modern culture into a luminous, chrome, hypnotic object, almost ritual.
On the front face, the message is clear:
GET RICH, accompanied by an iconic wink to the double C, a universal symbol of luxury and desire.
On the sides, the sentence completes itself, without detour:
OR DIE / TRYING.
A frontal slogan, radical, immediately understandable.
A contemporary injunction frozen in light.
The day: a chrome, cold and desirable icon.
The night: a luminous explosion, hypnotic, almost obsessive.
A brutal contrast between imagined success and contemporary pressure.
Limited edition of 20 copies for 2025, signed, numbered and delivered with AMA certificate of authenticity.
Fast and secure shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper, reinforced carton) with signature on delivery.
Specifications:
- 7 luminous colors
- 3 diffusion modes (static, faded transitions, simple transitions)
- Power via USB cord with switch (included)
- Height: 20 cm
- Width: 9 cm
- Depth: 9 cm
Sculpture made for commercial purposes, hand-retouched by the artist Pope using a premium polymer vinyl customization technique, including graphic design, precision cutting, meticulous positioning and fully manual application of visual elements.
Who is Pope?
Pope, cofounder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe driven by a practice of visual arts since childhood, a high standard of detail, and careful visual research.
Through sculptures, paintings and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and amazed gaze, attentive to both the simplicity and the complexity of the world around him.
Pope mainly draws inspiration from the world around him but also from art movements of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name a few.
Whether as a gift, a keepsake, or your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find your favorite among our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his passion for urban art through street art and pop art (in or out of edition) addressing a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, drug abuse, luxury brands and haute couture, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, agro-food and fashion products (sport, sneakers...).
Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope likes to mischievously twist labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many others.
Dear bidders, our collective makes every effort so that all information necessary to assess the lot for sale is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description and photos... After the sale, no unwarranted claims will be considered. Thank you for your understanding.
