Roberto Cafarotti recently won the Fabrizio De André Prize in the painting section, reaching its twenty-fifth edition.

The painting depicts a melancholic domestic interior.
In the center, an elderly man with a lined face and a gaze turned to the void sits on a chair. A silent conversation, almost an inner dialogue.
The wife is not present: her place is left empty, evanescent, like an absence that fills the space.
The man seems to address her, speaking to someone who is no longer there, in a moment of quiet solitude and memory.
Through the opening one can glimpse a hilly landscape with houses and a bird in flight, symbolizing a link between the inside and the outside, between the present and what has passed.
