Decorative and functional illuminated world globe from Scan-Globe A/S, manufactured in Denmark in October 1993.

The globe features a Dutch-language political world map and is rendered in warm, aged map colors with decorative cartographic illustrations. The globe rests on a round wooden base with an aluminium-colored central shaft and a metal meridian ring with a degree scale. When turned on, the globe is softly lit from within, making the map details nicely visible.

The cartography is stamped: “ 1993 Scan-Globe A/S Denmark – Made in Denmark – 10/93 – NL.” This documents the dating and Danish origin well. Due to its combination of cartographic character, functional lighting and sober Scandinavian design, it is a atmospheric object for a desk, study, library or interior with vintage appeal.

Decoratieve en functionele verlichte wereldbol van Scan-Globe A/S, vervaardigd in Denemarken in oktober 1993.

De globe heeft een Nederlandstalige politieke wereldkaart en is uitgevoerd in warme, verouderde kaartkleuren met decoratieve cartografische illustraties. De bol rust op een ronde houten voet met een aluminiumkleurige centrale staander en een metalen meridiaanring met gradenverdeling. Bij inschakeling wordt de globe sfeervol van binnenuit verlicht, waardoor de kaartdetails mooi zichtbaar worden.

De cartografie is gemerkt: “ 1993 Scan-Globe A/S Denmark – Made in Denmark – 10/93 – NL.” Daarmee is de datering en Deense herkomst goed gedocumenteerd.
