"The Pop Art Icon's series" is conceived as a homage to the great names of the 1960s – 1990s. Famous motifs are woven together and reinterpreted. No. 1 is a reinterpretation of the famous "Numbers" by Robert Indiana, with Barnes playing with the form by changing it to any motif. For the motif in this Number 1, there was none other than Keith Haring with his famous print "Andy Mouse" as godfather.
As a graduate of the Berlin University of the Arts, Toni Barnes has dedicated her œuvre to sculpture. The theme of art in space in 2D and 3D is also reflected in her painting, which deals exclusively with the play of light and shadow. Barnes currently lives and works in Berlin.
