Description from the seller

Unique, original work hand-painted by Raphaël Monnet

Raphaël Monnet develops contemporary abstract painting in which color becomes matter, rhythm and movement.

He approaches the canvas as an space for experimentation. The painting is projected, accumulated and confronted with opposing colors. The impacts cross paths, some areas densify while others let the background breathe.

His process does not rely on a pre-conceived image, but on a progressive construction. Each intervention leads to the next until an balance emerges between apparent disorder and pictorial organization.

Based in the Léo Varek workshop in France, Raphaël Monnet continues his research around projection and the superposition of colors. His works have an immediate presence from afar and reveal, when you approach, a multitude of details, nuances and unexpected encounters between pigments.

Each canvas results from a unique process. The trajectory of the projections, the distribution of matter and the interactions between colors can never be reproduced identically.

Format and presentation

The indicated dimensions correspond to the total size of the canvas. A painted peripheral edge is intended to be folded over the sides of the frame, without encroaching on the main composition.

Some images present the work in situ to facilitate its projection in an interior. They are created using the ArtStage staging software which makes AI mockups. Proportions may slightly vary depending on the scenes. Please refer to the dimensions indicated in the description to know the actual size of the work.

The edges are partially painted and allow for a clean finish after mounting.

Shipping

The work is shipped rolled in a rigid protective packaging, without stretcher or frame.

Light creases may appear upon receipt. This is perfectly normal for a canvas shipped rolled. These marks naturally disappear when it is mounted and tensioned.

For optimal results, it is recommended to have the canvas mounted on a frame by a local framer.

Ships are carried out by express courier — DHL, FedEx or equivalent — with careful tracking until delivery.

Some destinations may incur additional shipping costs beyond my control. In this case, the buyer will be informed before shipment to adjust the costs if necessary. Without approval of these costs, shipment cannot be made.

Additional information

Colors may vary slightly depending on screen settings and shooting conditions.
Frame and stretcher not included.
