AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Petrus Antonius Hermanus Brouwer

Born August 1, 1935 in Utrecht, died in 2010.

Education: Evening academy and pupil of P. Brouwer, teacher at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. Peter was a painter of direct colors; he undertook many study trips through Italy and Spain where these colors are vividly evident.

He has, among others, had exhibitions in New York and Germany. He became known through his reproductions published in the Netherlands, which were sold in the thousands.

Although Peter Brouwer had been in close contact with J. Bévort for years, he nonetheless held a completely different view of the craft. After all, his colors are more direct and bolder, harder and brighter. His subjects are also different, varied in color, often experimental. Brouwer worked more abstractly and, through these abstract paintings, arrived at a wholly original interpretation of the familiar.

Of course we will find many points of agreement with Bévort; only the atmosphere is different and his canvases live on their own. In that sense, he has earned a wholly personal place.

NOTE: if the painting is to be shipped it will be unframed, both in the Netherlands and abroad.
Pickup is preferred.
Delivery (or transport) includes the frame.
