Description from the seller

Unique and original artwork hand-painted by Raphaël Monnet

Raphaël Monnet develops contemporary abstract painting in which color becomes matter, rhythm and movement.

He approaches the canvas as an space for experimentation. The painting is projected, accumulated and confronted with opposite colors. Impacts cross, some areas densify while others allow the background to breathe.

His process does not rely on a pre-prepared image, but on a progressive construction. Each intervention leads to the next until an balance appears between apparent disorder and pictorial organization.

Based at the Léo Varek studio in France, Raphaël Monnet continues his research around the projection and superposition of colors. His works possess an immediate presence at a distance and reveal, when approached, a multitude of details, nuances and unexpected encounters between pigments.

Each canvas results from a unique process. The trajectory of projections, the distribution of material and the interactions between colors can never be reproduced identically.

Format and presentation

The indicated dimensions correspond to the total size of the canvas. A painted peripheral section is intended to be folded over the sides of the frame, without encroaching on the main composition.

Some images show the work in situ to facilitate its projection into an interior. They are produced with the ArtStage positioning software, which creates IA mockups. Proportions may vary slightly depending on the staging. Please refer to the dimensions indicated in the description to know the actual size of the work.

The edges are partially painted and provide a clean finish after mounting.

Shipping

The work is shipped rolled in a rigid protective packing, no stretcher or frame.

Slight creases may appear on receipt. This is perfectly normal for a rolled canvas. These marks naturally disappear when the canvas is tensioned.

For optimal results, it is recommended to have the canvas stretched by a local framer.

Items are shipped by express carrier — DHL, FedEx or equivalent — with attentive tracking until delivery.

Some destinations may incur additional shipping charges beyond my control. In that case, the buyer will be informed before shipping to adjust the charges if necessary. Without approval of these charges, shipping cannot proceed.

Additional information

Colors may vary slightly depending on screen settings and shooting conditions.
Frame not included.
