Description from the seller

Unique and original work hand-painted by Raphaël Monnet

Raphaël Monnet develops contemporary abstract painting in which color becomes matter, rhythm, and movement.

He approaches the canvas as an space for experimentation. The painting is projected, accumulated, and confronted with opposing colors. The impacts cross paths, some areas densify while others allow the ground to breathe.

His process does not rely on a pre-prepared image, but on a progressive construction. Each intervention leads to the next until an balance between apparent disorder and pictorial organization emerges.

Based in the Léo Varek studio in France, Raphaël Monnet continues his research around the projection and superposition of colors. His works possess an immediate presence at a distance and reveal, when approached, a multitude of details, nuances, and unexpected encounters between pigments.

Each canvas results from a unique process. The trajectory of the projections, the distribution of matter, and the interactions between colors can never be reproduced identically.

Format and presentation

The indicated dimensions correspond to the total size of the canvas. A painted peripheral edge is intended to be folded over the sides of the frame, without encroaching on the main composition.

Some images show the work styled in a setting to facilitate its projection into interior spaces. They are created with the ArtStage layout software, which generates AI mockups. Proportions may slightly vary depending on the staging. Please refer to the dimensions listed in the description to know the real size of the work.

The edges are partially painted to allow a clean finish after mounting.

Shipping

The work is shipped rolled in a rigid protective packaging, without stretcher or frame.

Light creases may appear on receipt. This is perfectly normal for a canvas shipped rolled. These marks naturally disappear when the canvas is tensioned.

For optimal results, it is recommended to have the canvas mounted on a frame by a local framer.

Shipments are made by express courier — DHL, FedEx, or equivalent — with careful tracking until delivery.

Some destinations may incur additional shipping costs beyond my control. In such cases, the buyer will be informed before shipment to adjust the costs if necessary. Without approval of these costs, the shipment cannot be made.

Additional information

Colors may vary slightly depending on screen settings and shooting conditions.
Frame and frame not included.
