Description from the seller

Unique and original work hand-painted by Raphaël Monnet

Raphaël Monnet develops contemporary abstract painting in which color becomes matter, rhythm and movement.

He treats the canvas as an experimental space. The painting is projected, accumulated, and confronted with contrasting colors. The impacts cross paths, certain areas densify while others let the background breathe.

His process does not rely on a pre-prepared image, but on a progressive construction. Each intervention leads to the next until an balance emerges between apparent disorder and pictorial organization.

Based in the Léo Varek workshop in France, Raphaël Monnet continues his explorations of projection and color superposition. His works possess an immediate presence at a distance and reveal, when approached, a multitude of details, nuances, and unexpected encounters between pigments.

Each canvas results from a unique process. The trajectory of projections, the distribution of matter, and the interactions between colors can never be reproduced identically.

Format and presentation

The indicated dimensions correspond to the total size of the canvas. A painted peripheral portion is intended to be folded onto the sides of the frame, without encroaching on the main composition.

Some images show the work in situ to facilitate its projection into an interior. They are created with the ArtStage staging software that creates AI mockups. Proportions may vary slightly depending on the mises en scène. Please refer to the dimensions indicated in the description to know the actual size of the work.

The edges are partially painted and allow for a clean finish after mounting.

Shipping

The work is shipped rolled in a rigid protective packaging, without stretcher or frame.

Slight creases may appear on receipt. This is perfectly normal for a rolled canvas. These marks naturally disappear once tension is applied.

For optimal results, it is recommended to have the canvas mounted on a frame by a local framer.

Shipments are made by express carrier — DHL, FedEx or equivalent — with careful tracking until delivery.

Some destinations may incur additional shipping charges beyond my control. In such cases, the buyer will be informed before shipment to adjust the fees if necessary. Without confirmation of these fees, shipment cannot be effected.

Additional information

Colors may vary slightly depending on screen settings and lighting conditions.
Frame and frame support not included.
