"What the Wind Has Left": Signs, matter and color traverse a bright space, leaving traces, interruptions and suspended paths. As if after a sudden pass, something remains on the surfaces: the rest is entrusted to look and imagination.

PAOLO CONTIN has developed his personal and continuously evolving artistic path for over twenty-five years. Trained in design and active in the fashion world since 1980, he transfers to painting a particular sensitivity for color, form and compositional balance.

Since 1999 he has exhibited his works, and in 2002 he held his first solo show in Padua. This was followed by numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, with presence in Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires and Sydney.

Paolo Contin’s artistic trajectory is also documented by his presence in the Mondadori Art Catalog with related valuations. Over the years his works have also appeared in Arte Mondadori magazine and in numerous catalogs and volumes created for solo exhibitions and major Art Fairs, some of which were published with the support of the Italian Institute of Culture.

He was also among the founding members of Tostart, an artistic association born from the meeting of ten Veneto artists and active up to the pandemic period.

Contin, an eclectic and independent artist, has built over the years a recognizable language, distant from belonging to a single school or trend. His research traverses geometric abstraction, matter and gestural painting, alternately employing rigor and expressive freedom. Lines, blocks, geometric shapes and intense chromatic relationships become elements of a vocabulary through which he investigates balance, movement and emotion.

Experimentation also extends to sculpture and wood, with works built through the layering of geometric elements, confirming a search that goes beyond the boundaries of painting alone.
His work continues to evolve today without preset formulas: every work is born from the will to preserve freedom, identity and expressive authenticity.
