Luca Strati was born in Reggio Calabria in 1981, a student at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze, with a predilection for sculpture. His artistic path began in childhood, as the son of the Reggio-born painter Mario Strati, and he soon developed a passion for drawing and painting with a comic-artistic character. Between 1995 and 1997 he attended the International School of Comics in Florence, while continuing his classical artistic studies. He also attended the Accademia Fiorentina di Belle Arti.
He works as a freelance illustrator, concept designer and sculptor. He was the author of several artworks for the Italian fanzine dedicated to Iron Maiden.
In 2013 he began teaching anatomy and painting techniques at the International Comics School in Jesi, now renamed ACCA ACADEMY.
In 2022, The Steampunk Art Nouveau Tarot published by Scarabeo was released; he worked as a concept artist for Kimera Models and as a cover artist for Heavy Metal, Dynamite Comics, Zenescope, Bad Bug Media, Mount Olympus Comics, Laguna Studios, Obscure Comics, Space Between Ent.
He has illustrated four decks, Marvel and DC, for Upper Deck Company.
